Kinda Chicana

The title, Kinda Chicana, references her Chicana identity and the gray areas around determining identities. In this discussion, Flores explores the nature of colonialism via Zoom with her non-Spanish speaking Latinx friends, family and colleagues by pronouncing and mispronouncing names, objects and places. Together they will hold up the mirror to colonialism and ask, "What are the things we do to maintain our cultural identity and memory?" This event is presented in conjunction with the online exhibition "home" at Acogedor.
